Nismo 57CR Wheels on a 370Z

Updated: Jul 8, 2023

Do Nismo 57CR wheels look good on a 370Z? These wheels debuted on the nismo Project Clubsport 23 build which far predated the launch of the Nissan 400Z. Nismo folks put together a wild project 370Z with the Q60 Red sport's Twin Turbo V6 (VR30DDTT) engine, now standard spec on the new 400Z. On this epic build, they chose the Rays 57CR wheels, presented with an etched nismo logo and nismo center cap.

Best looking Nismo Wheels for the Z34 chassis:
Nismo LMGT4 (Omori spec with etched nismo logo)

Nismo R35 GTR Wheels (20" size only oem, not supplied aftermarket)

Nismo 57 CR

Conclusion

I still prefer the LMGT4/omori edition wheels as the ultimate nismo wheel. The R35 GTR wheel is my next favorite, but at only 20" size and no aftermarket production, it's not very useful for a Z. The 57CR's offer a goregous wheel design, whether in the original Rays 57CR flavor, or the Nismo spec. However the spokes are too thin for the 370Z's large, wide, and curvacious body. Although the thinner spokes offer a more modern look, this chassis is much better suited by either a thicker 5-spoke design (e.g. LMGT4, Work Meister), or a 6-spoke design (e.g. R35 GTR nismo wheels or of course the classic TE37 style). The thin 5 spoke style of the 57CR might look best on a slimmer, sharper profile like the 300ZX, NSX, or S2000.
